The BMW 6 Series is a range of grand tourers produced by BMW since 1976. It is the successor to the E9 Coupé and is currently in its fourth generation. The 6 Series was initially only available as a two-door coupé, however a convertible body style was later added with the introduction of the BMW E63/E64 6 Series in 2004. A new four-door coupé body style was also introduced in 2012 with the F06/F12/F13 6 Series, as well as a fastback body style with the G32 6 Series in mid-2017. Onboard manual keyless entry remote fob smart key programming is not available on the 6 Series, meaning that special equipment, and not just programming instructions, will be needed to program a keyless entry remote fob smart key.
