The Buick Lucerne was a full-size upscale sedan sold by the Buick division of General Motors. Introduced at the 2005 Chicago Auto Show, the Lucerne replaced both the Park Avenue and the LeSabre for the 2006 model year. Some model years of the Buick Lucerne have keyless entry remote fob smart keys that are onboard programmable, meaning a person can program the keyless entry remote fob smart key with no special equipment other than the keyless entry remote fob smart key programming instructions. However, other model years of the Lucerne are not onboard programmable and require special equipment in order to program the keyless entry remote fob smart key. The Lucerne served as Buick's flagship through the 2011 model year, when it was discontinued.
