The Chevrolet Silverado and its mechanically identical twin, the GMC Sierra is a series of full-size pickup trucks manufactured by General Motors and introduced in 1998 as the successor to the long-running Chevrolet C/K line. The keyless entry remote key fob option has been available on every Chevrolet Silverado model produced. However, the Chevrolet Silverado's remote key fob is not always on-board programmable. On-board programmable means a person can program the keyless entry remote key fob with no special equipment other than the keyless entry remote key fob programming instructions. The Silverado name was taken from a trim level previously used on its predecessor, the Chevrolet C/K pickup trucks and Suburbans from 1975 through 1999. General Motors continues to offer a GMC-badged variant of the Chevrolet full-size pickup under the GMC Sierra name. As new model years are produced, we will continue to provide the keyless entry remote key fob programming instructions and/or programming information for the Chevrolet Silverado.
